GSN Single-Disc Coupling, Aluminium Clamp Type, Short Body

Contact for price

GSN series single-disc coupling with anodised aluminium clamp hubs and a 304 stainless steel diaphragm pack. One disc pack instead of two makes the coupling shorter and torsionally stiffer, which is what you want when the motor sits close to the screw and the shafts are concentric. Zero backlash, no wearing parts, no elastomer to age. Five sizes, outer diameters 19 to 50 mm, bores 3 to 24 mm.

Available sizes

Each size is ordered with the two bore diameters you need, one for the motor shaft and one for the driven shaft.

Size (outer diameter x length) Bore range
19 x 20 mm 3 to 8 mm
25 x 24 mm 5 to 12 mm
32 x 29 mm 6 to 15 mm
40 x 33 mm 8 to 19 mm
50 x 42 mm 10 to 24 mm

How to order

Couplings are quoted per order, with no price shown on the site. Send us the series GSN, the outer diameter and length you need, and the two bore diameters, for example GSN-32X29 with 8 mm and 12 mm bores. If you do not know which size fits, send the motor shaft diameter, the driven shaft diameter, the torque and the space available between the two shafts, and our engineers select it for you. RendatSP ships to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the UAE, Egypt, Oman, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Yemen, Algeria, Jordan and Syria.

Frequently asked questions

Can a single-disc coupling take parallel offset?

No, not meaningfully. A single disc pack bends, so it handles angular and axial misalignment, but taking sideways offset needs two disc packs separated by a spacer. If your shafts are not concentric, use the double-disc GLN or GL series instead.

Why choose single disc at all?

It is shorter and stiffer than the double-disc version of the same diameter, and it costs less. Where the motor and the screw are machined into the same frame and genuinely line up, it is the better connection.

How do I check the shafts are concentric enough?

Mount a dial gauge on one shaft and sweep the other shaft end while turning it by hand. If the reading is within the misalignment limit for the size, the single-disc version is fine; if not, fit a double-disc coupling.

Does the aluminium body limit the torque?

It limits it compared with a steel body of the same diameter, but it also lowers the inertia the motor has to accelerate. Send us the motor torque and we will confirm the size, or recommend the steel series if the torque is high.

Is a keyway available?

Keyway machining can be quoted as an extra operation. The clamp hub does not need one for normal loads.
