GFS series jaw coupling with 45# carbon steel hubs in a black oxide finish and an imported polyurethane spider. Steel hubs carry substantially more torque than aluminium ones of the same outer diameter, which is what CNC lathes, heavy feed drives and larger motors need. The spider damps shock, isolates the shafts electrically and takes up misalignment. Eleven sizes, outer diameters 30 to 120 mm, bores 6 to 65 mm.

How to order
Couplings are quoted per order, with no price shown on the site. Send us the series GFS, the outer diameter and length you need, and the two bore diameters, for example GFS-55X78 with 24 mm and 28 mm bores. If you do not know which size fits, send the motor shaft diameter, the driven shaft diameter, the torque and the space available between the two shafts, and our engineers select it for you. RendatSP ships to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the UAE, Egypt, Oman, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Yemen, Algeria, Jordan and Syria.
Frequently asked questions
Steel or aluminium jaw coupling?
Steel for torque and for larger shafts, aluminium for low inertia on fast indexing axes. At the same outer diameter a 45# steel hub carries far more torque than an aluminium one, so on a lathe spindle feed or a large motor the steel version is the right pick.
This version uses set screws. Is that a problem?
Set screws are fine for one-direction drives and for machines that are not stripped down often. They mark the shaft and can loosen under constant reversing, so for reversing servo duty choose the clamp type GFC series instead.
Do you supply spare spiders?
Yes. The spider is the wearing part and is replaced without removing the hubs from the shafts. Tell us the coupling size and we supply the matching spider, and the hardness you want.
How do I know the spider is worn?
You will hear a knock on reversal or at start and stop, and the machine will show lost motion. Check by turning one shaft by hand and watching how far it moves before the other follows. Replace the spider as soon as that free movement appears.
Can you machine a keyway in the bore?
Yes, as an extra operation. Larger bores in this range are usually keyed, so tell us the bore and the keyway standard with your enquiry.
