The Festo LR-1/2-D-O-I-MIDI is a pressure regulator from the Festo D series, Festo part number 192322. It has G1/2 female threads on both ports, regulates the outlet pressure from 0.5 to 12 bar, passes a standard nominal flow of 3500 l/min and weighs 660 g. Operating pressure at the inlet can be anywhere from 0 to 16 bar.
The regulator holds the pressure downstream constant regardless of what happens upstream. If the supply pressure falls, or if a machine downstream suddenly draws more air, the regulator opens or closes to keep the set pressure, with a maximum hysteresis of 0.2 bar. The setting knob has a detent so the setting does not drift with machine vibration, and the housing is die-cast zinc.
This version has the integrated non-return function. When the supply is switched off, air trapped downstream can flow back through the regulator and vent instead of staying locked in the system. That is what you want on a machine where the actuators have to be exhausted safely before someone works on them.
This version comes without a pressure gauge. The gauge port is prepared and threaded, so a gauge can be added later, or the port can be left plugged where the pressure is monitored somewhere else in the system.
The unit is a Midi size, which is a 55 mm grid dimension, so it lines up with the other Festo D series units of the same size and can be built into a service unit combination with connecting plates, mounting brackets, a shut-off valve or a lubricator. Ambient and medium temperature range is -10 to 60 degrees C.
