GTC High-Damping Rubber Jaw Coupling, Aluminium Clamp Type

Contact for price

GTC series jaw coupling built for damping rather than stiffness. The hubs are polished aluminium alloy with screw clamp fixing, and the element is an imported rubber claw rather than the harder polyurethane spider used on the GFC and GFS series. Rubber absorbs far more vibration and shock and isolates the two shafts, which is what you want on a drive that rattles a light structure or feeds a sensitive measuring head. Five sizes, outer diameters 15 to 34 mm, bores 4 to 16 mm.

Size (outer diameter x length) Bore range
15 x 23 mm 4 to 6 mm
19 x 26 mm 4 to 9 mm

How to order

Couplings are quoted per order, with no price shown on the site. Send us the series GTC, the outer diameter and length you need, and the two bore diameters, for example GTC-25X32 with 8 mm and 10 mm bores. If you do not know which size fits, send the motor shaft diameter, the driven shaft diameter, the torque and the space available between the two shafts, and our engineers select it for you. RendatSP ships to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the UAE, Egypt, Oman, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Yemen, Algeria, Jordan and Syria.

Frequently asked questions

How is a rubber element different from a polyurethane spider?

Rubber is softer. It damps vibration and noise much better and forgives more misalignment, but it winds up more under torque and carries less of it. Polyurethane is stiffer and stronger. Choose rubber when smoothness and quietness matter, polyurethane when torque and positioning matter.

Can I use it on a servo positioning axis?

Only where the accuracy demand is modest. The soft element winds up under load, so it is not the right choice for a precision ball screw. For that, use a disc or bellows coupling.

Does the element wear out?

Yes, like any elastomer element it is the sacrificial part, and it protects the motor and the driven machine. Replacement elements are supplied separately and are changed without removing the hubs from the shafts.

Does it isolate the two shafts electrically?

Yes. There is no metal-to-metal path through the coupling, which helps keep motor bearing currents and electrical noise away from encoders and measuring heads.

Which size do I need?

Pick the smallest outer diameter whose bore range covers both shaft diameters, then confirm the torque. Send us the shaft sizes and the motor rating and we will select it for you.
