The Schneider Electric ATV340U40N4 is an Altivar Machine ATV340 variable speed drive rated 4 kW for heavy duty and 5.5 kW for normal duty, on a three-phase 380-480 V supply. Per the Schneider data sheet it has an integrated class C3 EMC filter, an integrated brake chopper and the Safe Torque Off (STO) safety function, and it controls both asynchronous and synchronous (permanent magnet and reluctance) motors.
The ATV340 is the Schneider drive for demanding machines such as hoisting, packaging, material handling, cutting and winding, where high dynamic performance and built-in safety are needed. This is the standard version with Modbus serial on board; fieldbus modules (PROFINET, Profibus DP, DeviceNet, EtherCAT and others) fit in the option slot.

Compatibility and replacement
The ATV340 range has standard versions (like the ATV340U40N4) and versions with embedded Ethernet (reference ending in E). Check the reference on the old drive label. Fieldbus modules from the old drive can usually be moved to the new one if they are ATV340/ATV3xx compatible; send us the module reference to confirm.
