The Siemens 6ES7288-2DR08-0AA0 is an EM DR08 relay output module for the SIMATIC S7-200 SMART. Eight isolated dry relay contacts rated 2 A each switch loads the CPU cannot drive directly.<\/p>\n

Because the outputs are volt-free contacts, the same module can switch a 24 V DC solenoid on one point and a 230 V AC contactor coil or signal lamp on the next, which is why relay modules are the default choice for mixed-voltage machines and for retrofits into older panels.<\/p>\n

EM expansion modules clip onto the right-hand side of an S7-200 SMART SR, ST or G2 CPU and are recognised automatically – the module takes the next free address range and needs no switches or jumpers. Up to six EM modules can be added to one CPU, in any mix of digital and analog, so a machine that outgrows its controller can be extended without replacing it. The economic CR-series CPUs do not accept expansion modules.<\/p>\n
