The G120 is the modular Siemens drive: the Power Module is combined with a Control Unit (for example CU240E-2 or CU250S-2) and optionally an operator panel. Only the failed part needs to be replaced.

Compatibility and replacement
The Control Unit and operator panel of the old drive can usually be fitted onto the new PM240-2 of the same rating, keeping the parameters in the Control Unit.
What to check first
- Check the supply voltage, input fuses and motor cable for faults before installing the new drive, so it does not fail for the same reason.
- Save or write down the parameters of the old drive if it still powers up; an operator panel can copy them.
