GLN Aluminium Disc Coupling, Single and Double Disc, Clamp Type

Contact for price

GLN series disc coupling with anodised aluminium alloy clamp hubs and 304 stainless steel diaphragms, offered in both single-disc and double-disc form in the same five outer diameters. The double-disc version takes angular, parallel and axial misalignment; the single-disc version is shorter and stiffer and suits concentric shafts where space is tight. Zero backlash in both. Outer diameters 19 to 50 mm, bores 3 to 24 mm.

How to order

Couplings are quoted per order, with no price shown on the site. Send us the series GLN, the outer diameter and length you need, and the two bore diameters, for example GLN double disc 32 x 40 with 8 mm and 12 mm bores. If you do not know which size fits, send the motor shaft diameter, the driven shaft diameter, the torque and the space available between the two shafts, and our engineers select it for you. RendatSP ships to Saudi Arabia, Iraq, the UAE, Egypt, Oman, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Yemen, Algeria, Jordan and Syria.

Frequently asked questions

Single disc or double disc?

Double disc, because almost no real machine has perfectly concentric shafts. Use single disc only when you know the alignment is good and you need the shortest, stiffest connection possible. A single disc pack cannot absorb parallel offset, and forcing it to will load the motor and screw bearings.

How does GLN differ from the GL series?

Both are aluminium disc couplings with clamp hubs. GLN is offered explicitly in single and double disc versions across five diameters; GL covers a wider range of diameters up to 82 mm. If you already have one on the machine, send us the code printed on the hub and we match it exactly.

Will it hold position on a servo axis?

Yes. There is no elastomer and no sliding part, so there is no backlash and very little wind-up. This is the type of coupling used between a servo motor and a ball screw when repeatability matters.

Can you machine a keyway?

Yes, as an extra operation. Give us the bore size and keyway standard with your enquiry.

What tightening torque do the clamp screws need?

Use the value stamped on the hub or given in the datasheet for the size, applied with a torque wrench. Too little and the hub slips on the shaft, too much and the bore distorts.
